Question: I initially had a los angeles DUI at metropolitan court with a court date on 6/29/11..or so the paper said. When I got there, my case was not on that date. What do I do now? Were my charges dismissed?
Answer: It is likely that they just didn’t file your DUI charges by the time of the arraignment. This happens regularly, and in theory, if this is the case, they should mail you notification of a new arraignment date should they file DUI charges, or other charges. To be safe though, I would recommend contacting the Criminal clerk at Metropoliltan court on weekly basis to see if they filed something, just in case that mail notification doesn’t reach your hands. If the case gets filed, and you (or your attorney) do not show up at court for the arraignment, the judge would likely issue a bench warrant for your arrest.
