Question: First DUI case in Van Nuys, CA – How or who determines the arraignment date?
Answer: Usually the citation that was issued to you will list the arraignment date on it. If that is not the case, contact the criminal clerk at the Court where your matter will be heard. They should be able to tell you if your case is filed and when the arraignment date is. Note that sometimes it takes a while for the prosecutor to file the charges, so keep checking back regularly to make sure it is not missed. You also may want to contact and hire an attorney to handle this matter, and handle checking in with the court about your case. Call me at 818-336-1DUI if you want to discuss your case in more detail. My office is in Sherman Oaks, down the street from Van Nuys Court.
Good luck
