Do you have to go through a chemical test for a DUI in Los Angeles?

Question: I was arrested for DUI in Studio City, CA. When I was arrested, the CHP told me I had to do a breath or blood test. Do you have to go through a chemical test for a DUI in Los Angeles?
Answer: If you don’t submit to a breath or blood test after being arrested, you will likely be charged with a refusal which can have extra penalties on top of the DUI charges. If you have been charged with a DUI and refusal (or just a DUI) you should speak to a DUI attorney in your area as soon as possible.
