Driving with a suspended license based on DUI

Question: What happens when I get pulled over driving with a suspended license based on DUI in Van Nuys?  My DUI conviction is from about a year ago but I never got everything together to get my driver license reinstated.

Answer: Depending on the situation, you would likely get arrested, booked and released on a promise to appear at court. That is assuming no priors or other circumstances and can vary depending on jurisdiction. You would then be looking at a violation of VC 14601 (driving on a suspended license), penalty of which can include (and usually does) jail time. Call me at 818-336-1DUI to discuss.
