I got charged for a DUI on June 9 2010 in Van Nuys. It’s been more than a year, but there has not been a court date. is it dismissed?

Answer: If they did not file charges after a year, then you should be in the clear. If they decide to file after a year, you should be able to get the charges dismissed basically, because they waited to long to file charges. You may want to check at some point down the road to make sure there is no bench warrant issued against you for failing to show up for a scheduled court date (ie. if they claim to have mailed you a notification of a court date). You can have an attorney do this if you would like. I am in Van Nuys court regularly and can check on this for you if you would like.
