Can I be thrown in jail for not completing my driving school for a DUI?

Question: Can I be thrown in jail for not completing my driving school for a DUI?  I went to Court for it a little over 6 months ago.  I ended up getting sick and missed the enrollment date the Court gave me.   I tried to enroll recently but the program told me that I messed up and would have to go back to the Court to clear it up.  And now I am nervous about more penalties for not doing things on time.  Once I missed the initial due date time just got away from me.

Answer: Yes, it is possible to get penalized further by the Court for violating a term of your probation, and on a DUI case or other misdemeanor or felony convictions, that can include jail time.  That being said, it is also possible to avoid further penalty.  I have been very successful in cases like yours convincing the Court not to penalize further for issues like this, and have them reinstate probation.   On this case were you initially convicted for a first offense DUI? or a second DUI, third DUI…? Call me to discuss further.  818-336-1384.   I will be happy to help you.
