DUI Court Date

Attorney Appearing on Behalf of Client At Court for Misdemeanor DUI case

Question: How long do I have to wait for a DUI court date in Torrance, CA? I travel a lot for work and don’t want to miss the court date.  I was pulled over for weaving.  It is my first DUI arrest ever.

Answer: If the DUI charges are filed as misdemeanors, then I, as a privately retained attorney, would be able to represent you on your behalf without your presence at Court.  In your case since you stated it is your first DUI arrest ever with no car accident, it would be filed as misdemeanors.

There is an exception to the above if the Judge specifically orders you to appear at a court date, but that is not common for first DUI offenses in Los Angeles County.  At some point you may need to appear with me at Court depending on how the case proceeds, but I would give you a lot of advance notice if that were to occur.

Feel free to contact me at 818-336-1384 if you would like to discuss your case in further detail.
