I am about to plea to a DUI out of San Fernando court. If I do, will my license be suspended?
Question: I am about to plea to a DUI out of San Fernando court. If I do, will my license be suspended?
Answer: Yes, the DMV will suspend your license if there is a DUI conviction….even if it is your first DUI. Depending on the situation of your conviction, there are likely options to get a restricted driver license. The options change depending on the details behind your conviction for “timing” purposes. The variables include length of driver license suspension, whether an Ignition Interlock Device is mandatory or not. How long you would have to have the Interlock Device installed on your car, as well as other factors.
When is your Court date set for? Have you already been to court or no? Just because you were arrested for DUI does not mean that you have to (or should) necessarily be convicted of a DUI. Call me to discuss your case in more detail. 818-336-1384.
