Question: I was in a car accident in Encino and told the officer I was taking prescription medications, which I was as prescribed by the doctor…it did not effect my driving.
Answer: I am not sure what your question is. Are you being charged with a DUI? If so, and your answer is, is it possible to get charged with a DUI for taking prescription drugs, the answer is yes. If you are being charged with a DUI, you should contact an experienced DUI attorney to fight the case, as it is possible to get charges dismissed or reduced, or a not guilty finding if you take the case to trial. I would not recommend trying to handle this case on your own as the court process and procedure is very complicated, and you don’t want to take any unnecessary risks when it comes to your criminal record and potential consequences. Call me at 818-336-1384 (818-336-1DUI) if you would like to discuss this case in further detail. I have successfully resolved DUI cases with facts similar to yours.
