Question: Should I request a DMV hearing for my DUI in Van Nuys even though I am not a DUI attorney?

Answer: First, yes, you should request a DMV hearing even if you decide not to retain a DUI attorney to handle it for you. Second, I would HIGHLY recommend hiring an experienced DUI attorney in Van Nuys area to handle your criminal case as well as the dmv hearing. Note that you (or your DUI defense lawyer) only has 10 days from date of arrest to request the hearing, or else that right is deemed to be waived. If you retain me in time, I can request the dmv hearing, new temporary license, and discovery, etc. to handle your DMV case as well as the criminal DUI case in Van Nuys.
