Question: Will a criminal DUI case be continued if I fire my DUI attorney to hire a new DUI Defense Attorney?

Answer: If a new attorney is subbed in then that is generally good cause for the judge to grant a continuance in a misdemeanor DUI case. I have personally always been granted continuances when subbing in to take over a trial. A few times I have had to convince the judge of why I and the client needs proper time to prepare for the criminal DUI case, but after that, I have never been denied when I have subbed in as a new DUI Defense attorney of record.
