Question:I have a Van Nuys DUI court date from DUI arrest in Tarzana. I was pulled over for speeding 22 miles over the speed limit. Will this affect my DUI?

Answer: The prosecutor may add a speeding enhancement to your DUI charges if you were going 20+ mph over the speed limit on a residential road (or over 30+ mph on a freeway). If convicted of the speeding enhancement, it is a mandatory 60 days in county jail on top of your penalty for a DUI conviction. Call me as soon as possible to discuss the DUI case further. My office is in Sherman Oaks, between Tarzana and Van Nuys court.
