Speeding 99mph

Question: Hello, I was caught near the Mojave area speeding at 99mph in the 65 mph speed limit zone. What should a 1st time ticker receiver do?

I was clocked at 99. I have had a perfect driving record for almost 5 years now and this is my first ticket. I am a 24-year-old female and a school teacher. I was not charged with a criminal charge but the Officer just gave me a regular speeding citation for VC 22349. Is there a way to avoid the DMV point associated with this ticket? Can I still ask for drivers school and avoid a point.

Answer: I would recommend that you fight this ticket. Due to the alleged higher speed as stated on your ticket, it is unlikely you would be able to attend traffic school to mask the DMV point. By fighting the ticket you or your attorney may be able to get the ticket completely dismissed, or get the alleged speed reduced to allow the Judge to allow for traffic school.

I handle Court matters in Mojave and have had good success there. Feel free to call me at 818-336-1384 to discuss further.

Sincerely, Philip Hache, Attorney
